Google+ vs Pinterest

Google+ and Pinterest are the most recent entries in the social media run. Even though they have not yet gained as much popularity as that of Facebook or twitter yet let us find out which has succeeded in making a better mark in people’s mind with a comparison between Google+ vs Pinterest.

Size limit of the posts:

Basically, Google+ allows a post limit of 100,000 characters while newly launched Pinterest has a post size limit of just 500 characters.

Profile:

Google+ provides the facility for setting one profile picture, region for one to five photos shown at a time and space for multiple texts where as Pinterest has the facility for one profile picture, 200 characters limit and space for multiple texts.

Video Conferencing:

Google+ has the facility for video conferencing of a total of ten people at max with unlimited watch-and-listen only guests but Pinterest does not have any such option.

Visibility of posts:

The posts are visible to any follower as well as the public in case of both Google+ and Pinterest.

Editing of Posts:

The editing of posts option is present in both Google+ as well as Pinterest.

Editing of comments:

This alternative is also available for both the social networking sites.

Grouping of posts with responses and comments:

The grouping of posts with comments and responses can be done in Google+ as well as Pinterest. It helps maintaining the privacy of the users by limiting their posts and comments to few selected people.

Display of photos in posts:

Both Google+ and Pinterest allow the display of photos in their posts which can help in making the posts more attractive and interesting.

Display of photo albums in posts:

While Google+ provides the opportunity to its users to posts photo albums in their posts, Pinterest does not give any such facility.

Hence, from the above comparison between Google+ vs Pinterest, it can be deduced that both Google+ and Pinterest have got enough features for a face-off with other popular social networking sites and stand a fair chance to give a tough competition to the renowned networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter in the near future!
