How to record Zoom Meeting without permission on Android

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Zoom has become a household name because most people work at home, and educational institutions provide online courses for students. After being severely criticized for user privacy, the service introduced many new features. One of the useful functions is to record Zoom meetings.

Well, let the host and participants of the meeting record the session from the desktop application. The meeting screen on the right side of the chat provides an option to record the meeting. Moreover, both participants and moderators can record the meeting according to the settings. However, in some Zoom meetings, the host can restrict the recording of the meeting. In this case, participants cannot record the meeting. However, there is a workaround to record Zoom meetings without the permission of the Android host, as described below.

How to record a Zoom meeting without permission on Android

In order to record a meeting without the permission of the host on Android, you are required to install another application called Mobizen from the Google Play Store, and then perform the following steps:

  1. First, install the Mobizen screen recorder application on your Android device.
  2. After the installation is complete, open the application and skip the one-month trial period.
  3. Click the circle, then click Record.
  4. Make some adjustments and allow all dialogs and start.
  5. Now, open the “Zoom” application and join the meeting that you wish to record.
  6. When finished, tap the circle and stop recording. The recorded clip will be saved in the phone’s gallery.

Please note that you should start recording on Mobizen before opening the “Zoom” app. If you start recording after joining the meeting, the recording may not work as expected. In addition, the screen recorder application will not only record the audio in the “zoom” meeting, but also the surrounding environmental noise and all sounds outside the meeting.
