Recently during the sixth annual Women in the World Summit in New York, Women from all over the world had assembled to debate on gender issues. On the second day of the summit, famous Indian Journalist Barkha Dutt, Leslee Udwin of the “India’s Daughter” Documentary fame and Norah O’Donnell of CBS This Morning had a discussion on women safety and rape culture in India along with a series of other topics.
On hearing Norah O’Donnell’s claim that “India is So Unsafe for Women”, Barkha instantly rose to India’s support and said “Now this is where I have a fierce disagreement with the narrative that’s being built around my country.” She gave instances to prove her point and also threw a light on other countries which also have similar issues of gender inequality.
